Good day
The School of Business and Finance (SBF) will host its 5th UWC Entrepreneurship Conference at the Lagoon Beach Hotel in Milnerton, Cape Town on 28 – 29 September 2017.
We invite all academic scholars, researchers, practitioners and policy makers – at all levels – to join in exploring Evidence-Based Best Practice in Entrepreneurship Education in the Southern African Region. This year’s theme is inspired by the School’s vision of nurturing the cultural diversity of South Africa, and responding to the needs of a society in transition.
It is still unclear which entrepreneurship curriculum best fits an economy or sub-region. The conference is an opportunity to hold debates, talks and discussions around the School’s vision of nurturing the cultural diversity of South Africa, and to responding in critical and creative ways to the needs of a society in transition.
The aim is to elicit best practises for the future of entrepreneurship education for optimal economic benefits and human development and to redefine the best approach to teaching entrepreneurship for more vibrant and competitive individual entrepreneurs and economies in the SADC sub-region.
Contributions covering any of the following or related sub-themes are welcome:
- Sub-Theme 1: Entrepreneurial Education and Learning
- Sub-Theme 2: Township Economy
- Sub-Theme 3: Entrepreneurial Finance
- Sub-Theme 4: Sustainable Rural Development
- Sub-Theme 5: Critical Skills required for Members of Co-operatives in Fishing Communities
This is not an exhaustive list, and papers are welcome in other related areas.
Registration for South African entrepreneurs, academics and researchers costs R1 000, and students can be part of the conference at R500 each. The cost for international delegates is $100.
